She focuses on proper form, pushes me to my limits and encourages me not to stop when I’m feeling like giving in. Patricia rounds out her training by helping you develop proper nutrition habits along the way. Every time I go in for a session, I know I’m going to work hard but I will also have so much fun doing it!

In 6 months, I have lost 20 pounds and several inches. “I came to see Patricia in early 2012 looking for help to increase strength, build muscle, and improve my performance as a runner. After an initial evaluation, Patricia started me on work to improve my flexibility and core strength to provide a baseline for future training and counteract the effects of years of working a desk job.  This led to rapid improvements in posture and endurance, while helping to improve a number of minor chronic running injuries.

Once she was satisfied with the basics, Patricia moved me to a strength training program, including advice on nutrition. Most important, by focusing on my form and technique in the two sessions a week that I spent with her, Patricia gave me the knowledge and skills needed to do effective workouts on my own as well.

She also provided a more in depth suggestions on how to manage nutrition. Following her guidance, I have dropped back down into my ideal weight zone while maintaining my gains in lean muscle.  I can do a full set of unassisted chin-ups – something I had never thought achievable – and have improved my running pace by 15-20 seconds per kilometer, setting new personal bests for 5 and 10 km in July and August.

Patricia is an excellent trainer with impressive expertise, who offers a thoughtful, honest and professional approach with a focus on your goals and clear guidance on what you need to do to achieve them.  She varies her programs regularly, keeping you challenged and interested, and provides you with sessions to follow on your own. “When I first started looking into personal training I had this image of a drill sergeant that was going to yell things like, “DO YOU WANT THIS?!” or, “IS THAT ALL YOU GOT” while I struggled through a push up. The idea being that scaring me into the exercise was probably the only way to motivate me. This image does not describe Patricia at all, and I’m glad. She is incredibly nice and encouraging and got rid of the idea that it’s you against the exercise – which makes exercising so much more enjoyable. If something isn’t working or is painful, she has the knowledge to adapt the exercise so you can work up to the goal. And we did.

My goal when I started working with her was to do a chin-up. Check! The skills she taught me in the gym and kitchen will serve me for the rest of my life. I highly recommend working with Patricia. “After 35 years of abusing my health and several years trying to improve it on my own, I was frustrated. After my first two weeks working with Patricia, I was already seeing results! My energy and endurance improved dramatically and the inches were coming off.
